If this shot looks familiar to you, it should. This is US Hwy 163 and it runs through Utah on its way to Monument Valley. The road and view look familiar because this is the spot where Forrest Gump decided he had had enough of running and headed home to his beloved Alabama. I was racing the clock and had already missed the sunset when I arrived here and wasn’t even sure if any of the (rather rushed) photos would be salvageable. I had just enough light and color left in the sky to fire off a few frames while dodging traffic (for being out in the middle of nowhere, at dusk, the road was surprisingly busy) and other photographers.
