On Wednesday I took a trip up to Flagstaff with my friend and her husband. The plan for the day was to drive up to Lockett Meadow to see some fall colors and get out of Phoenix. I anticipated a cool, windy day with a 3-4 mile hike. When we arrived at the beginning of the incline to the top we found that the road had been closed to vehicle traffic due to the nearby Pipeline Fire. After a short discussion, we decided to hike the 3 miles to the meadow anyway. All in all our adventure lasted 8 miles in weather that was closer to 75 degrees, but a good time was still had by all.
