I’ve made a few trips down to Canyon Lake in the past week or so with a few different ideas of what I was looking for in my head. Sometimes on these trips I get what I was looking for and sometimes, like on this trip, a scene that seems pretty dull just opens up for me. I had parked at this wayside and at the time the sky was pretty dull and the peaks were dark. Then for a span of about 5 minutes the last sunlight hit the ridges of Four Peaks and added a little color to the nearby clouds. I did capture some frames with a much brighter sunlight on the peaks but it was almost too much so I settled for this more muted image.
