Like most photographers I know, I have seen all the photos of the Tsuchinshan-ATLAS Comet and thought, I should go see what I can do with it. My first attempt ended when I failed to find the comet on the horizon and just ended up with some very basic photos of the Phoenix skyline. I went out a couple of nights later and this time headed to “my” spot on Phillips Rd. in Eloy, AZ. I’m pretty sure I just wasn’t sure what I was looking for the first time but having a darker sky with fewer obstructions sure didn’t hurt and soon enough the comet came into view. It boggles the mind to think of the distance the comet will travel and all it will see in the 80,000 years before it returns to Earth.
