I have wanted to take a trip up to the Grand Canyon for a while so on Thursday I packed the car and drove north. I stayed at the El Tovar hotel which, while a little pricey, was located right on the rim and gave me plenty of opportunities for late night and early morning photography. I did hike Bright Angel Trail from the trailhead to the first tunnel (which is a very short distance). It was so tempting to go further but I could see where someone might overdo it since going down is easy but the climb back out is definitely not. I’ll have to train up a bit before attempting an actual trip to the bottom.
