Rising 235 feet above the water, Haystack Rock sits along the Oregon shoreline in the beautiful town of Canon Beach. This formation is a basalt sea stack formed through volcanic activity far below the earth’s surface. You’ve most likely seen Haystack Rock before in travel magazines, and online vlogs and it is a recognizable feature in the classic 80’s movie The Goonies.
After a day of trekking around the city of Portland, we were excited to spend time in this picturesque seaside town with its little shops and amazing ocean views. The day was bright and sunny albeit a little chilly and windy down at the beach. The bright sun mixed with the sea spray gives a mist-like appearance to the photo.
